United Feeds is to host a series of meetings for dairy farmers at venues across Northern Ireland throughout the month of January.
The theme for the upcoming events is: Preparing your dairy business for 2026.
United Feeds’ Sales Director, Alan Boyd, spoke about the significance of the meetings.
He said:
“Last year saw dairy farmers benefit from strong dairy markets, helpful weather and positive grass growing conditions.
“However, through the end of 2025 and into 2026 we have witnessed a weakening in dairy markets. So, at the beginning of the New Year it’s appropriate to take stock of this situation and consider how dairy farmers might best manage their businesses in the year ahead.”
Alan went on to point out that the line-up of speakers planned for the January meeting series, very much, reflects this.
He continued:
“United Feeds’ team of ruminant nutrition advisors provide bespoke herd management advice to customers on an ongoing basis.
“The upcoming series of meetings is an excellent example of this commitment.
The participating speakers at the meetings are: Cormac McKervey, Head of Agriculture at Ulster Bank; Michael Verner, United Feeds‘ Business Development Advisor and members of the United Feeds’ nutrition team.
Cormac will speak about the financial outlook for dairy farms over the next 12 months, dairy business finances, cash flow and managing debt, while Michael will discuss what farmers can control and manage within their own farmgate to maximise on farm resources.

The members of United’s dairy nutrition team in attendance at the upcoming events will highlight the importance of meeting the nutritional requirements of every cow and achieving good feed efficiency to drive dairy cow performance through milk yield, milk quality, fertility and animal health.
